Davide Lavazza, after completing his studies in mechanical engineering and a master's degree in material and new cutting technology at the Politecnico of Milan, started his career at Ferrari SpA. There, he worked as a programming engineer at the manufacturing facility of the Formula one racing team in Maranello. After two years, he moved to a well-known cutting tool company (Sandvik Coromant). There he spent three years in charge of the Italian R&D (mainly developing new cutting material). After looking for new options in the metal cutting business, he finally joined Pietro Carnaghi, the worldwide famous vertical lathe and gantry mill producer, as director of technological and application office.
